Drenthe University of Professional Education (Hogeschool) , was formed in 1987 as the result of an amalgamation of 5 institutions of higher education in the province of Drenthe. It is a government-funded institution. Moreover, some of the study programs are ranked No. 1 in the Netherlands. Approximately 2400 students study at the Hogeschool and most students find it beneficial that the university is rather small. Personal attention, one of the most important characteristics within the institution, and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere provide the conditions in which all students enjoy the wide experience associated with university life while developing their talents to the full.

Drenthe University is a University of Professional Education that, in an increasingly technological world, aims to educate its students to be up to date with - and even ahead of - current developments in society and industry. The quality of its education, which is internationally oriented, is its key to success. There is a strong emphasis on innovation - particularly in growth sectors such as Synthetics and ICT - while basic concerns such as the progress of the individual students, on both an educational and personal level, receive the necessary attention. This is why the university stands for Top Development. Visit the Drenthe University Website
